Captive

Sunday, May 10, 2020 at 3:30PM Repeating event

Neeginan Centre

This is the third of Camerata Nova’s Truth and Reconciliation series featuring new works on the theme of “captivity” as interpreted by Indigenous composers/performers, including electro-acoustic specialist Eliot Britton, hip-hop artist Zoey Roy, cellist Cris Derksen, our very own Andrew Balfour, and more. Under Andrew’s leadership, we’ve been pushing the envelope on contemporary Indigenous music for more than ten years, discovering and collaborating with incredibly talented Indigenous artists and helping to bridge Indigenous and settler communities. Andrew Balfour, curator/composer, Mel Braun, conductor. Each concert can be appreciated as a stand-alone piece.

Adult tickets are $30, $25 seniors, and $15 for under 30s. Tickets available from McNally Robinson Booksellers, at www.cameratanova.com, 204-918-4547, and at the door.
