A Contagion of Madness is presented by Young United Church as a fundraiser for Crossways in Common, a multi-agency building located in the West Broadway neighbourhood in the heart of Winnipeg. It's an area with great needs and we, the six groups that make up today’s Crossways, are doing our best to meet them. Our mandate is a continuation of the work Young has been doing on this site since 1891—caring for people who might not otherwise be cared for. Just seeing that the work gets done.
A Contagion of Madness is a two-act staged radio play is set in 1908 Winnipeg. It follows the continuing adventures of Elleston Liddell—Methodist minister, best selling author and amateur sleuth, this time as he deals with a conspiracy theory not unlike today's Qanon. A Contagion of Madness features live sound effects and live music, provided by the Elleston Trio, The evening will open with a musical set from the Haskins Street Band.
Performances are Wednesday, October 2nd, Friday, October 4th and Saturday, October 5th at Young United Church, 222 Furby St (at Broadway). Doors open at 7PM, shows begin at 7:30. Tickets are $20 and are available from the church office, 204-783-0128.
