The Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade is Winnipeg's longest-running free community event, established in 1909. We hope you'll make the parade a part of your holiday tradition!
The Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade begins at Portage Avenue and Young Street, and heads east down Portage Avenue to the intersection of Portage and Main. • Santa's Workshop at Cityplace 2:00 - 4:00 pm
JCI team members and volunteers will prepare a VIP experience with Santa in his Cityplace workshop. Parade goers are invited to take part in friendly games for kids with some surprise prizes and FREE photographs with Santa prior to the parade festivities.
• Holiday Concert with Camerata Nova 2:30 - 3:30 PM
Manitoba Hydro Building, Atrium
Manitoba Hydro and the Winnipeg Santa Claus Parade invite you to a special performance by Camerata Nova featuring holiday classics and some of their own favourites. Enjoy a cup of hot chocolate while you enjoy this concert, sponsored by Manitoba Hydro.
Arrive early for Santa's Block Parties, starting at 4:00 PM. Along the parade route, local businesses and organizations will host block parties with activities for the entire family. Arrive early to enjoy a variety of activities and events including mascots, musicians, and street hockey. Thanks to the Parade Ambassadors for ensuring a fun, safe, and memorable experience for everyone.
These enthusiastic volunteers will keep you energized while you wait for Santa! (subject to change)
• JCI Winnipeg | Spence to Balmoral
Join JCI Winnipeg for some old-fashioned street hockey on Portage Avenue. There will be children’s hockey sticks available and all guests are welcome to bring their own. This is a family- fun game geared towards kids (and kids at heart). Look for the blue “JCI Winnipeg” hockey jerseys on site.
• Great-West Life | Vaughan to Kennedy
Great-West Life invites you to warm up with hot chocolate while listening to holiday favourites performed by the Hats Off Barbershop Quartet. Try your hand at jumbo board games including Jumbo Jenga, life-size Connect 4 and Dominoes. There will also be face painting.
• Manitoba Hydro | Edmonton to Carlton
Meet Louie the Lightning Bug and learn to play it safe around electricity. Manitoba Hydro invites your family to take part in activities such as a giant board game, photo op station, and craft table. Take this special time to write your letter to Santa.
• Children’s Advocate | Carlton to Hargrave
The Office of the Children's Advocate calls all children and youth to bring their families and join our #Carlton2Hargrave block party designed specifically for kids and youth. This year, we celebrate the Magic of the Season in our games area, hosted by VOICES: Manitoba's Youth in Care Network. Do you love Harry Potter as much as we do? Come hop on a broom and zoom around scoring points in our Dementor-free Quidditch ring. Try your luck tossing witchy hats onto our mascot, or decorate a Christmas tree...while wearing magic oven mitts. We've got live music from the amazing Ila Barker and Wavy Guy, the friendliest mascot in Manitoba, has invited some of his mascot friends to join the party!
• Canad Inns | Donald to Smith
Canad Inns welcomes you to the Adventure Kids Street Party. Meet our mascot, Splasher, and welcome Santa to Winnipeg, Canad–style! Enjoy colouring, games, candy canes, and hot chocolate. Remember to take your photo with Splasher and tweet @canadnation.
Kids 12 and under can enter our prize draw to win your very own Splasher’s Treasure Trove. You'll automatically be entered in the Adventure Kids Club for a free kids meal, special promotions, contests, and prizes.
• Sport Manitoba | Garry to Fort
It’s just a hop, skip, and a jump to fun. Join Sport Manitoba and Fit Kids Healthy Kids for a street party between Garry and Fort. This block will be geared towards little ones aged two to ten. Kids can play a variety of winter-themed activities that will get them moving while learning some fundamental movement skills such as jumping, throwing, leaping and kicking.
Try the Snowball Throw, Tree Bowling, Reindeer Ring Toss and much more! Keep warm by being active before the parade begins. Guaranteed to be lots of fun!
• Energy 106 + Hot 100.5 + CKJS 810| Portage & Main
Energy 106, Hot 100.5, and CKJS 810 presents the Santa Claus Pre-Parade Block Party; kicking off the parade with a MASSIVE dance party. Join Energy 106, Hot 100.5 and CKJS 810 at Portage and Main at 4 p.m. for free pizza from Little Pizza Heaven. DJ D-Lo will be spinning some hot tunes to warm you up. The Santa Claus Pre-Parade Block Party—powered by Little Pizza Heaven, Tim Horton’s, Exhale Dance Studio, Kildonan Place, Waverley Chrysler, Len Dubois Trucking and Grant Park Shopping Centre.
