SYNOPSIS
Thanks to the manipulations of his mother Agrippina, Nero now rules over Rome. Yet it is his half-brother Britannicus, rightful heir to the late Emperor, who should have inherited the throne. Viewing him as a threat, Nero has Britannicus' fiancée Junie kidnapped and gradually transforms into a tyrant. Enter the corridors of power with this play by Racine that depicts a complex web of intrigue between professionals in politics, interweaving personal, romantic and family conflicts. Stéphane Braunschweig revisits the past in light of the present in a setting that evokes a modern, real seat of power.
