Yuri Klaz conducts the Winnipeg Singers as we open our 46th season with Indigenous Mosaics –
Sunday, October 28, 3pm in Winnipeg at the wonderful Pauline-Boutal Hall.
Winnipeg Singers celebrate Canadian culture with ‘Indigenous Mosaics’ featuring Andrew Balfour’s oratorio Wa Wa Tey Wak (Northern Lights). Premiered in 2006, Andrew’s composition is the central work for our celebration of Canadian Indigenous culture and based on a traditional Cree legend.
Winnipeg Singers welcomes our very special guests Cory Campbell (traditional singer), Elise Lavalée (viola) and Mike Thompson (didgeridoo). Traditional Métis music and dance will be performed by the talented Patti Kustorok (Manitoba Fiddling Hall of Fame), and the wonderful Norman Chief Memorial Dancers.
