In an informal jam session setting, we will focus on learning and playing a basic Manitoba repertoire of fiddle “hits.” Sheet music with bowings and links to recordings will be provided in advance, and our focus will be on exploring what makes the tunes sound “fiddly” rather than just notes on a page. Accompanying instruments (guitar, piano, double bass, etc.) are welcome and encouraged to register. The chord symbols will be marked in the sheet music and basic accompaniment instruction provided.
